Unusual Jobs – Unusual Lives

unisual jobs

Hi!

In this post I would like to go back to a video that I made 2 years ago (time flies – when I recalled it, I first thought it couldn’t be more than a year ago, but OMG, it’s already been 2!) The reason why I am doing this is the result of the poll I have carried out on my YouTube channel asking if my viewers want me to make videos on Business English vocabulary, and the answer is “Yes” with most votes. Great! I have been thinking about it for quite a while, and I am ready to come up with the first video of the new series this week! It is going to be published on Thursday, September 19; in the meantime I decided it is a good idea to revise some basic vocabulary on the topic “Jobs” with my 2 year old video “Unusual Jobs” and you can give yourself some food for thought – are you happy in the job that you are doing now? If not, which one would you like to have and what prevents you from taking it up? Please, write your answers in comments.

I titled the post “Unusual Job – Unusual Lives” – just to emphasize what a huge impact our occupation makes on our lives. Just think about it – on average most people spend 1/3 of their lives at work! That means that if you are happy with what you do professionally, your rate of overall happiness is at least 33-35% (considering that the other 2/3ds are your personal life, and time for sleep)

So let’s watch again a video about people 1/3 of whose lives are definitely unusual and in most cases – happy.

So, are you happy in the job that you are doing now? If not, which one would you like to have and what prevents you from taking it up? Please, don’t forget to write your answers in comments.

It is a great idea to look at some vocabulary from the video, so it is quiz time now!

So, I hope this post was useful in the way that not only can you learn some English with it, but also think about some life-changing decisions!

And don’t miss my new video on Thursday! 🙂

Spread the love

About Me

Hello!

For almost 20 years I have been helping adult learners speak English, which for most of them was not only a learning challenge, but also a path to discover their potential and to believe in their abilities. It has also been a 20 year long journey for me to discover myself and my place in this world, for which I am sincerely grateful to my dear students.Read more
